The Chiefs are coming off a thrilling come-from-behind overtime win over the Broncos that only materialized due to Alex Smith’s eight-point drive at the end of regulation and their game-winning field goal that banked in off the upright. With the win, the Chiefs are just a game back of the Raiders in the AFC West and currently own one of the two wild card spots.

This game will most likely come down to the Falcons’ high-flying offenses against the Chiefs’ opportunistic defense. The Falcons are ranked third in yards per game and first in points scored, with 32.5 per game. They’re second in offensive DVOA. The Chiefs’ defense has allowed a ton of yards this season (the fifth most, to be exact), but it’s allowed just 19.5 points per game.
On the other side of the ball, the Chiefs’ offense is exactly what you’d expect: average. It’s ranked 16th in scoring (22.9 points per game). Atlanta, though, has the fourth-worst scoring defense, allowing 27.5 points per game. So, expect the Chiefs to move the ball. The question is if Smith can keep up with Matt Ryan.
