Kratch’s prediction: Alabama and Clemson have completely distanced themselves from the rest of college football, so it is fitting the two programs will meet in the title game after emphatic wins in the semifinal round. This game will be won (or lost) on the lines. Each team is the only one in the nation that can stand toe-to-toe with the other for 60 minutes up front. Even without defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence, the Tigers’ defensive front has the edge against Alabama’s offensive line. And there are some soft spots in the Crimson Tide’s defense as well. Another key to watch: Special teams. Alabama is a bit lacking there, and it may be the breaking point. Tigertown is Titletown again. CLEMSON 28, ALABAMA 27
